Marc Brown realistically brings out a child’s fear of being a failure in a class, as Arthur goes through the same trauma when he tries to think of everything that would make his story seem more exciting to the class, even if the story does not make any sense. Marc Brown has done it once again in detailing Arthur’s current predicament in writing the perfect story for his class. “Arthur Writes a Story” is certainly a book for children who also have problems with writing a good paper for class, and the book would help them learn about writing a story that makes them feel comfortable. From the mind of Marc Brown, Arthur has to write a good paper for his class, but he spends the majority of the book trying to figure out ways to make his story more interesting to hear about. So if you want to know what lesson Arthur learned you have to read this book.“Arthur Writes a Story” is somewhat apart of the “Pal the Puppy” trilogy as it deals with Arthur writing a story about how he got Pal from his pet business.

Then Arthur and his friends went to a restaurant called the Sugar Bowl and Prunella said last year somebody got an a+ for writing a song. So that’s when Arthur went to the library to research his story. Then brain said that a story needs to be well researched. Then the next day Arthur read it to brain. Then Buster told Arthur he should write about outer space and that’s when Arthur got the idea of writing about an elephant in outer space. Then the next day Arthur read his new story to his friend Buster and he asked him if that was a good story and Buster said it was all right. And that’s when Arthur added elephants to his story. Arthur wanted to write a story about how he got his puppy Pal, but when he read it to his sister D.W., she said she will rather write about getting an elephant. Arthur had to write a story about what was important to him.
